Beethoven Sonata No. 30 Op. 109
    Sonata No. 31 Op. 110
    Sonata No. 32 Op. 111

Beethoven’s last three piano sonatas certainly represent the pinnacle of achievement in this genre. The trio of sonatas 109, 110 and 111 reveals the colossal extent to which the creative work accomplished by the musician, who was already deaf by this point, revolutionised the rules of classical composition. These three works, often played together despite being formally distinct, share a similar structural freedom. We are in the realms of fantasy here, guided only by poetic feelings and music which seeks to express the infinite and break down traditional boundaries. An unrivalled epic and prophetic triptych.
