The world discovered it in the music of our time. It is not uncommon to hear him defend Adams, Ades and others. But at the end of a first album of Etudes by Glass with the Deutsche Grammophon label, Víkingur Ólafsson came back to... J.-S. Bach, who brought the critics to their knees again. It has to be said that underneath his air of ideal son-in-law, the fresh graduate of the Julliard School does things his own way. And the New York Times won't contradict us, as it called the virtuoso an "Icelandic Glenn Gould". As long as he makes everything he touches his own, he combines Rameau and Debussy. What's the relationship between these musicians who are two centuries apart? France, of course, but also a sense of colour and a certain lust for freedom. Even more so if affinities.
