A giant figure endowed with staggering technical ability acquired at the Moscow Conservatoire, Boris Berezovsky is the embodiment of Russian piano at its most traditional. Virtuosity and poetry imbued with Slavonic sensitivity are demonstrated to dazzling effect on stage and on vinyl. An admirable performer of Rachmaninov and Prokofiev in particular, he cultivates a clear taste for chamber repertoire which he regularly performs with friends. Once again this season, he demonstrates his skill to great effect in this programme bringing together some of the finest works in the Russian repertoire.
