Victor Julien-Laferrière will forever remain the first. First winner of the first Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition of Belgium dedicated to the cello (2017). Revelation? Confirmation! Crowned at the Prague Spring 5 years earlier, he had already conquered the hearts of discophiles in the company of Adam Laloum at Mirare. He returns to Brahms with Maxim Emelyanychev, a Russian prodigy with whom he will render the ardour still contained in Opus 99, although composed late. Before going to slum it at Poulenc's, whose Sonata sketched at the dawn of the war for Pierre Fournier was not completed until 1948, the musicians will show with Fauré what the beating of a Butterfly's wings can be more delicate than the flight of a bumblebee.
