After last season’s Barber of Seville, we are staying put in that city in the company of the world’s most famous cigarette-maker, Carmen. Here, Bizet’s opera is transposed into the world of the circus and star performer Carmen rubs shoulders with her two suitors, Don José the circus guard and Escamillo, a strongman, as well as a knife thrower, trapeze artist, fakir, jugglers, acrobats, and dancers to name but a few. This is a baroque setting for a highly colourful show which will entertain young and old alike. Just like The Barber of SevilleCarmen will offer the audience a fresh opportunity to sing along, after a short rehearsal. A final lap of the ring and a one-hour vocal warm-up then the show and the performance can begin. Drumroll, please!
