"We felt a great affinity with the man and with his writing, imbued with humanity, intelligence and humour. It's a beacon for the evolution of our sound and aesthetics," the Modigliani Quartet will tell you if you mention Joseph Haydn to them. Of the sixty-eight scores left to them by the Austrian master, this time they will show the modernity of the powerful Opus 76 No. 2, known as "Fifths", which notably features a sardonic "Witches' Minuet". The French then abandoned Viennese classicism to take an interest in Nordic romanticism. In 1877-78, Edvard Grieg, in the midst of an existential crisis, confided his moods to the string quartet. A pessimistic and anxious winter trip to the land of fjords, whose formation will undoubtedly render ardent lyricism in a single breath.
