    Fantasia Op. 103 D. 940

Schubert was so keen on piano pieces for four hands that he virtually made the genre his own. His catalogue contains 32 piano works for four hands, thus reflecting his taste for friendship and collaboration. Andreas Staier and Alexander Melnikov have recently recorded several late pieces, including one of the greatest works in this genre, the Fantasia in F minor op. 103 D. 940, bringing dazzling complicity and intensity to this neglected work.
