Born in Poland and trained at the Hamburg Staatsoper in the early 2000s, soprano Aleksandra Kurzak is now a diva who divides her time between the Paris Opera, Covent Garden and the Metropolitan in New York. Her mellifluous tone, rich warmth, powerful high notes and magnificent piani are equally appealing in Verdi, Puccini and Massenet. After Puccini in love and love duets with her partner Roberto Alagna last season, she is back in the very heart of the 19th century repertoire in this solo recital for some of the finest arias.
