Philippe Jaroussky and the work of Handel go back a long way and he enjoys revisiting it on a regular basis. The lyrical corpus of Caro Sassone and Vivaldi is among the most extensive in the Baroque era and each composer offers some of the greatest arias originally written for castrati, which are a boon for countertenors today.

With his crystal-clear timbre and supple, agile voice, Philippe Jaroussky is the quintessential countertenor of his generation. He tackles the boldest and most difficult nuances with flawless technical mastery and disarming ease. For this new recital, he is reuniting with the instrumentalists of the Artaserse Ensemble. We are always open to original, wonderful experiences and are sure that there will be some rare gems among the fine arias in this repertoire.
