At only 36 years of age, Lisette Oropesa is already a real star, whose name is enough for all Paris to rush to listen to (or more often see) what she sings. Since 2015, she has had a string of triumphs at the Paris Opera: she first stunned with Mozart, as Constanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, before shining as Gilda in Rigoletto, Marguerite de Valois in Les Huguenots, then Adina in L’Elisir d’amore, and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Now in demand on all the major opera stages, Lisette Oropesa is back in Paris this season for an event that is eagerly awaited by lyricophiles and promises to be exceptional: her first recital at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. She will make her mark in Mozart operas, returning to the composer to whom she owes her initial success at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, at the age of only 22, when she took on the role of Suzanne in Le Nozze di Figaro. Lisette Oropesa will share the stage with the rising young Japanese mezzo-soprano Aya Wakizono, who is also to be closely followed.
