Beethoven  Sonata No. 30 Op. 109
Sonata No. 31 Op. 110
Sonata No. 32 Op. 111

These are works of “unprecedented humanity” according to Anne Queffélec who, after half a century, took Alfred Brendel’s sage advice and finally recorded them for the Mirare label on an album released in November 2022 which earned a “choc Classica” recommendation from Classica magazine. Her limpid, luminous approach is more than just spiritual. The pianist recalls Wilhelm Kempff’s remark that “Beethoven is something you experience” and states that she likes “his strong powerful language which addresses the body too. This music is also physical, highly embodied. It can only be tackled body and soul.” You have been warned!
