This pair of talented young performers will work wonders onstage in the Mozart-Rossini programme they have put together. Lea Desandre, who is equally at ease in the classical or baroque opera repertoire (see for example, her recent Médée by Charpentier at the Opéra de Paris and her various performance in Aix), has swiftly made a name for herself as one of the most prominent singers of her generation. Huw Montague Rendall, a young baritone in his thirties, shows unusual maturity in the roles he tackles. His clear yet velvety voice, palette of nuances, and bright high notes mark him out as a first-class performer.
