About
Following hot on the heels of performances of Manon Lescaut, we have another of Puccini’s portraits of a woman. Here Magda, the mistress of a wealthy man, dreams of fleeing the superficial life of Parisian high society to cross the wide oceans like a swallow towards true love. La Rondine (which means the swallow in Italian) is not often performed, but it is one of Puccini’s most delicate and moving works.
