About
Andrei Korobeinikov is a keyboard superstar (with no fewer than twenty major competition wins to his credit) and a sharp young mind (he is a qualified lawyer and published writer). For this new recital, he will work his way from Beethoven to his beloved Scriabin (of whom he is one of the finest performers) before segueing into legendary territory which may be unfamiliar to some – but not all – of the younger generation! This spellbinding concert was entirely improvised by the indefinable Keith Jarrett in January 1975 in Cologne (hence the name of the recording released soon after the concert). Fifty years after that memorable evening, this improvisation has become a classic for a much wider audience than just jazz enthusiasts. It is rarely performed in concert, but tonight Korobeinikov is offering us the opportunity to “relive” the first part.
