About
In the space of a few short years, British tenor Freddie De Tommaso has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the world of opera. He is of Italian descent and this operatic heritage seems to run in his veins. With a powerful voice and a warm timbre, he effortlessly captures the essence of verismo, a style that demands both passion and technical skill. His studies at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London and his varied experience on international stages have shaped this young singer into a confident and talented artist with great vocal prowess. He quickly made a name for himself, particularly after winning the prestigious Plácido Domingo Prize at the Operalia competition in 2021, which provided a catalyst for recognition in the international arena. Tonight he will be joined for a series of arias and duets by Verdi, Ponchielli and Puccini by the 29-year-old Romanian baritone Mihai Damian, who caused a stir in the final of the 2025 Operalia competition
