Since winning First Prize in the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in 2015, the Russian pianist’s rare performances in France have met with unanimous acclaim. This was the case with his extraordinary Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1 with the Orchestre National de France in 2020 and his inaugural recitals at La Roque-d’Anthéron and with the Paris Philharmonic. This is his first appearance on the stage at avenue Montaigne which has been graced by so many of his elders, and he will perform a programme almost entirely devoted to Russian repertoire. Only Liszt’s Spanish Rhapsody will take us to different climes.
