About

Michael Spyres is a singer with an extraordinary voice.  It is not just an expression, his instrument is literally extra-ordinary: the American tenor is one of the few opera artists who can sing roles of such varied natures, navigating easily between repertoires with the help of a phenomenal range.  He belongs to the category of "baritenore" (as Manuel Garcia or Andrea Nozzari were before him), having "a baritone voice with a developed treble" that can take on arias "that mix elements", or areas "that belong to both categories" with great ease.  Michael Spyres does not hesitate to tell how he discovered with delight and then worked hard on his very special range.  Better than any explanation, attending the highly piquant and atypical recital that this voice lover has concocted will offer you the best demonstration.
