As principal flute for the Berlin Philharmonic since the age of 22, a frequent guest performer with major international orchestras, and an accomplished chamber music player, Emmanuel Pahud has made his name as one of the most famous flautists of his generation. For this concert, he will reunite with his colleagues from Les Vents Français. On the programme of festivities, a rare whirlwind of a Sinfonia by Haydn’s friend, the Neopolitan composer Cimarosa. Franz Danzi will provide a link between classicism and romanticism, and of course there is Mozart, with two choice pieces, a famous sinfonia concertante for virtuoso performers and another entitled Paris, written with the express aim of charming the discerning music lovers of the City of Lights.
